We here at chirrps are so excited to announce the launch of a brand new feature: TweetPeek. One of the most common uses of Twitter is sharing links, pictures, and videos with your followers and potentially the general public. Traditionally, a user will skim a tweet and decide whether or not to click the link based on the description in the tweet. Most of the time, the URL has been shortened so the viewer can’t be 100% sure where the link will take them. This can lead to security risks as well as a loss of productivity.
We decided to eliminate these problems altogether by allowing you to see what’s “under the hood” of any link within a tweet. TweetPeek gives you a glimpse of where exactly the link will be taking you. So whether it’s the headline and first few sentences of a blog post, a preview of an image, or an embedded video, you no longer have to be weary about clicking those links.
This is just one more way we at chirrps are striving to help you filter the noise and have the most efficient Twitter experience possible. Thanks for reading and let us know what you think :)
Thanks,
The Chirrps Team

One new feature that chirrps has recently launched is a dynamic profile search for Twitter users. With this addition you can now instantly find a Twitter User’s chirrps profile (including tweets, photos, videos, & more). The profile search is featured on every chirrps page in the main search bar at the top.
We haven’t by any means gotten rid of the Twitter keyword search. That function is still just as powerful as it ever was. In order to search Twitter for a keyword, simply type the word or phrase you want to search for and hit enter. The most popular tweets containing your search terms will show up as they always have.
If, however, you are looking for a user’s profile instead of a keyword or phrase, start typing that user’s name or user ID in the search box. A list of the most popular user’s will dynamically appear as you are typing. Notice that you can type either the user’s name OR the user ID. So now if you want to find the latest photos or most popular tweets from your favorite celebrity, but don’t know their user ID (or screen name) you no longer have to google them to find it. Just start typing their name and let chirrps show you the best matches. If you would prefer to search by user ID, that will work just as well.
This update is one of many that we are rolling out as we continue striving to make chirrps the destination of choice for your Twitter experience.
Thanks,
The chirrps team
We are extremely excited to announce the launch of chirrps.com.
What is chirrps?
Very simply, chirrps combines a powerful search engine with a social community. Both are powered by Twitter.
Search
Chirrps.com filters the firehose of information from Twitter by simultaneously displaying popular and live streaming tweets. These tweet streams can be filtered even further by selecting a category (News, Entertainment, Tech, etc). The user has the ability to search for a keyword, hashtag, or phrase from all of Twitter or within a certain category. So, whereas a search for apple within the Tech category will most likely produce results about Apple Inc, a search for apple with the Inspiration category may tell you that “an apple a day keeps the doctor away.” Once a user is logged in, they have the ability to retweet any result that is displayed. The retweet can be edited before it is sent out.
Community
Every Twitter user has a chirrps profile which can be reached by going to http://chirrps.com/[Twitter Username]. The profiles section is a revolutionary way for Twitter users to engage with one another.
The Message Board shows tweets that were sent to a user as well as the user’s latest tweets. The Tweets tab lets you see a user’s latest, most popular, and favorite tweets as well as any time that user has been mentioned. You can view any photos or videos that a user has uploaded to a third party twitter client (TwitPic, Yfrog, TwitVid, etc.). While this is done automatically, a user can assign Flickr, Picasa, YouTube, and Vimeo accounts to their profile after logging in.
Once logged in, a user can retweet, reply, and follow users all without leaving the site.
We are extremely excited about our beta version and are working hard on improvements and more features. Please let us know what you think and if you have any suggestions for improvement.
Thanks so much!

The progression of chirrps is moving along quite nicely. We are currently in our alpha stage, but will be moving to beta very soon.
